True Worship

First, let us look at what the bible says about worship.

John 4;21-24 (NKJV)

Jesus said to her, “Woman believe Me the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem worship the Father. 22 “You worship what you do not know, we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. 23 “But the hour is coming and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

What is worship?

Jesus told the woman that “You worship what you do not know, but we know what we worship. True worship comes from Knowing God.  We must know the God we worship. The only way our worship will be effective will determine the way we know, see and understand God. Worship is acknowledging God as the source of everything we have.  Worship itself is not easy as we think no, it is not!, and we all struggle to worship God (including myself), yet it is very simple to worship God.  Some of us are being classified in the category where we worship what we do not know. We may think that we are worshipping God but we really are not! I’m saying this because our manner of worship to God does not show that we know Him. For instance, imagine if God was visible and you could see Him. What would you do?  I’m sure we would all dread and tremble whenever we saw Him. You wouldn’t dare even touch your phone while in  church,  in fact you’d switch if off, you wouldn’t stand up, and if it is to give you’d want to give the best, you would even forget the person next to you because your full attention would be on Him. you would honour His presence and show much respect as possible.

But in reality this is not happening, this makes you think that because we cannot see God, we forget that He is watching us, we fail to acknowledge Him because of our fleshly desires. Such as being careless for lateness in church, showing up anytime or even end up not showing up, forced to raise our hands during worship, doing it because of other people but not in truth, some of us pull out our phones and scroll on social media or play games in the middle of the sermon, showing no reverence for God’s word. We give our time and value for material things than we do for God’s things. We put our jobs, children, husbands, wives, parents, and so on first before God and then God is the last. Some of us get so busy and busy that we have failed to create a day or time for God. The truth is we just don’t care, our love for God grew cold.  This kind of worship shows we really don’t know God and that we are worshipping something we don’t know which is why I say it again It is hard to worship God, we all struggle to worship God and it is one of the greatest weapons the enemy fights most, but as long as we know and acknowledge God, our worship can become simple and pleasing to God.

What can I do so that God is pleased and receives my worship?

“But the hour is coming and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

God yearns for true worship. He is looking for true worshippers, not worshippers because we all can worship God but not in true worship to Him. Jesus said the true worshippers are those who worship God in spirit and in truth.  God is spirit and they that worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. Now first, we have to know that God is spirit, we cannot worship God in flesh or with our flesh, what do I mean?  Romans 8:5 says for those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.  The flesh hinders us to worship God in a manner that pleases Him, when we are being minded by our flesh, we are concerned of the things of the flesh, how to satisfy this body and give it what it wants like in church, we are so concerned about clothes and what should I wear, we have made it a competition because we want to dress perfectly well like so and so as if our value comes from just clothes that can wither away anytime.  Money, money has become a main issue, don’t get me wrong money is good and we need it, but the excess love of it is totally not right, we work 24/7 all week, no day or time for God, even if we go to church on Sunday we don’t give 100% focus on God, we will get distracted by anything like our phones, children, friends etc. During worship, our minds may not be on God but on that situation, that person, that, dress, that promotion, that thing, name it… which describes our failure to worship God because our hearts are far far away from Him. (We are in the flesh). Since God is Spirit, He wants us to worship and live in the Spirit and living in the Spirit is totally opposite to the flesh. It’s when we crucify the flesh and make it submit to God! God wants our hearts totally focussed, concentrated on Him. God wants all of You! To worship Him, He wants us to worship Him with everything we have, not just part of us, He wants your lifestyle to be surrendered to Him.  God wants your whole mind, body, heart and everything to be only on Him, He wants to be the centre! Yes! He hears your words, how you speak well of Him, but if your heart is far from Him those are just empty words to Him and do you think He is pleased with that?  Worshipping God in truth doesn’t involve emotions or feelings. Worshipping God based on our emotions and feelings is being mainly concerned at the external things, however our worship and everything we do is meant to be in truth with our attention  fixed on God and not with what’s going on around us.

Psalm 99: 8-9

You answered them, O Lord our God; You were to them God-Who-Forgives, though you took vengeance on their deeds. 9 Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at His holy hill; for the Lord our God is holy. (NKJV)

We can only know God through Studying His word, True worship is for and only about God, Seeing Him as He really is! Singing our hearts out to Him not just mere singing, acknowledging Him and what He has done for us, emptying ourselves so He can fill us. Realising that only God has sustained you, provided, protected and has made you become who you are today.  This is called true worship!

I pray that God helps us to worship Him in truth and in spirit, His grace is sufficient. May He grace you and me to become true worshipers whom He is looking for today.

God Bless You.

Help, Is My Worship Real?

Are you doubting your worship to God?  Are you wondering if your worship is real?

The holy spirit has guided me into sharing with you what true worship is? This post is on my blog and somehow relates to this topic too. But this is a whole different post that I would be writing about as the holy spirit leads me.

We love to worship God. I believe it is our desire and purpose to worship Him with all our lives. However, sometimes we wonder if the way we worship is real or fake, we wonder if God is watching, pleased and enjoys our worship. Worship is not easy and especially worshiping a holy God in spirit and in truth is harder. Because we can not lie to God, He sees the depth of our hearts and therefore He knows those whose worship is real or not. Brethren we can still worship God in all the right ways and forms but when it’s not real to God. This is why God is looking for true worshippers not just worshippers.

How do I know if my worship is not real?

True worship has no doubts or questioning thus if it’s real and genuine. If you constantly keep questioning your worship to God then it may be the holy spirit convicting you that either you are not doing it right or it isn’t real.  Those whose worship is real, know its real! and are confident that God enjoys and receives their worship.

Where is your heart?

Isaiah 29:13 Therefore the Lord said: Inasmuch as these people draw near to me with their mouths and honor me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from me, and their fear towards me is taught by the commandment of men.

First, ask yourself where is your heart? It’s important to be mindful of our hearts before we even worship God. God sits in our hearts and it is the heart that has control over everything. This is why the location, position, and condition of our heart matters when or during our worship to God. We can worship God in the right ways, singing, thanking, praising, giving and serving Him, but if our heart is not there, it’s not real to God. its simply wasting time. WHY? because the heart is somewhere else, it’s not with God. its the heart that shows us who we truly are not the appearance. So if we worship God on the outside and not inside, we are not doing it right which makes it fake.  We must check our hearts brethren, we must let our hearts worship God not our lips.  When our worship is from the heart, it is sincere, beautiful and real!. It becomes a sweet-smelling aroma to GOD.  He delights in it and receives it.

Is your worship God’s way?

Mathew 15: 9 And in vain they worship me, Teaching as doctrines the commandment of men.

Our worship becomes empty when it is not in accordance with God’s word or His way. sometimes we can be misled by other people who tell us to worship God this way and that way. This may not line up with God’s word. It may be their own ideas but change them into God’s commands. This is why it’s crucial to test the spirit. We shouldn’t be doing what everyone is doing or following the crowd. But we must be alert and sensitive to the Holy Spirit. He will show us when we are being deceived, or when that isn’t the right way.  He will convict us which sometimes leads us to question if our worship is real. Listen to the Holy Spirit and obey Him. Our worship becomes real and true by the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Is there deceit on your lips or in your heart?

Psalm 17: 1 Hear a just cause, O Lord, Attend to my cry; Give ear to my prayer that is not from deceitful lips.

Our worship cannot be real from a deceitful tongue or heart. God cannot hear it, He detests it because it is not truthful. Jesus said that those who worship God must worship Him in Spirit and truth John 4:24. David knew that God wouldn’t attend to his prayer if it was not in truth. God is a God of truth so everything we do must be done in truth. Our lifestyle of worship must be truthful, As we worship God with our lives, at times we can be distracted, tempted to sin, attacked with challenges which can be difficult to worship God. During these moments,  you know you have to worship God regardless what you going through, it is tough but this is where your worship becomes real and sweeter. However, it should be sincere. Brethren If we still love the world and do everything of the world and the pleasures of the flesh, how can we worship God in truth? Our lives must totally change to another direction. We must totally turn away from sin. Our worship won’t be real if we still live in sin and allowing it to rule us. God is a holy God and desires us to be holy. Jesus is the truth, HIS word is the truth, we should live according to HIS word. His word will guide and enlighten our paths removing every deceitful habit or ways in us thus making our worship genuine and pleasing to God.

How can I make it right?

We cannot worship God in Spirit and in truth without the Holy Spirit and Jesus. The Holy Spirit helps us to worship God in spirit for He is the spirit. and Jesus helps us to worship God in truth for He is the truth and the word of God. The Holy Spirit and Jesus make us become true worshipers whom God is looking for. Let us yield to them and be obedient to them that’s when our worship is complete, real and beautiful.

Longing for worship to be real and pleasing to God is beautiful in the sight of God.  We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But repentance brings us back to God. A broken and a contrite heart, God will not despise.  Psalm 51:17. Let us repent and yield to the holy spirit to empower and enable us to worship God in Spirit and in truth genuinely with all our lives.

God bless you.

Submission to God

Are you struggling with submission? Have you failed to submit? What does submission mean? what does it really mean to submit God’s way? Why is it difficult to submit?

Submission to God’s way and to His will can be very challenging. It is not easy and most of us struggle in this particular area.  Submission is the act of yielding and accepting the will of God. It is an act of worship! To submit God’s way is obedience to God’s will, so without submission, there can be no obedience.

Colossians 3:18

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter towards them. Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord. Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they should become discouraged. Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eye service, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart fearing God. NKJV

The scripture explains submission in a simplistic way based on our Christian journey as believers. It shows that throughout our living for God, submission is compulsory. Submission God’s way is to submit to the authority of any person above you. For example,  like wives are to submit to their husbands, workers to submit to their bosses, children to submit to their parents, according to the scripture. Every activity needs submission, just as a driver has to submit to the laws of driving, so we also have to submit to those in higher authority. Submission is very essential in our everyday lives if we are to follow Christ.  It means dying to self and doing as unto the Lord. But we don’t like this word submission, we think it weakens us, we see it as a controlling tool and therefore we despise it,  instead, we do things our way thinking we know it all yet it is God’s will for us to be submissive. It is one of the strongest weapons of a Christian person coz it only makes you stronger and stronger.

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men. knowing from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. NKJV

We gave God the authority and power to be the ruler of our lives from the day we confessed that Jesus is Lord. Therefore we no longer lead or govern our own lives.  He does. So since we made this decision, we surrendered our lives to Him, and so we gone need to submit to Him!!. He now has the supremacy and dominance over our lives. God predestined our lives from the very beginning before our existence. He already set out good plans for us, He made us for a purpose and only Him can lead us into that purpose. However, we cannot walk with Him without yielding to His will or way.  There’s a role that we must play, a task that must be done. In Whatever we do, we need to do it heartily, if we are to submit, we need to be sincere and genuine knowing our reward is from the Lord and not men. Submission is serving God, not men. It is our responsibility. Submission is not easy but it identifies you as a true follower of Jesus because it takes you to deny yourself, to lose your life, your desires, your pride, strength which is to pick up your cross and following Christ. Submission prunes us to live righteously, with it, obedience becomes easier, We are able to walk on the right path God has chosen for us. It helps us to obtain a good life that God wants us to live and most especially it glorifies God.

What can I do to submit Gods way

  1. Humility

Submission takes humility, if you are humble it is much easier to submit, but with pride, it is very very difficult to be submissive. Proverbs 11:2 says When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom. Submission requires wisdom and with the humble is wisdom. Those who submit are wise for they see from far, they do not allow their flesh to rule them. They walk in the spirit and are led by the holy spirit. Submission requires us to do things God’s way not our own way, however stupid it may look, people may not understand, it may look crazy but you do it for God, your motives are to please God not men. So, You ignore that boss, your husband, or that person however right they maybe instead you submit to them as unto the Lord knowing it is not about you nor them but is about GOD and this GOD is going to exalt you before men at the right time. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will lift you up.  James 4:10 NKJV

 2. The fruits of the Holy Spirit- self-control

Submission is much easier if you have self-control.  Proverbs 29:11 says  A fool always loses his temper, But a wise man holds it back. People without self-control, do whatever they wish or desire without thinking or recognizing the consequences.  They cannot keep quiet when you talking, they cannot stay silent when they are right, they just cannot control their attitudes or their own selves. Submission is a lot harder for them, as they don’t see its value. However, those who are led by the spirit start to produce this fruit as the holy spirit enables them. Self-control is a fruit of the holy spirit and so it can only be exercised by the power of the holy spirit. With self-control ones able to hold back their anger, may look foolish but still do what is right. Such people are sensitive to the holy spirit and do according to what He says.  When we walk in the fruits of the holy spirit which are; love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. We will love submission, we enjoy doing it, we won’t see it as a struggle but as a gift.

Let us ask the holy spirit to empower us to be submissive to God in whatever circumstances or situations we may face regardless our feelings whether we feel like it or not. God’s grace is sufficient, and He is able to help us if we are willing to let Him. Submission will mold you, prune you, break you but build you and establish you up. The outcome is beautiful, the end result is amazing. Because of your submission, people’s lives can change, it can lead people to Christ, people may want to know more about the God you serve. your light can shine in the dark and people will see it.  God blesses you mightily so you become a blessing, You glorify God and truly He rewards you greatly.

I pray that the Lord graces us to have the ability to submit to His way and will. May He strengthen us and help us abandon our selfish desires but constantly live to self-denial so that He can be glorified in us in Jesus Name.

God bless you.

Worshipping God amidst Trials

Are you going through a silent season in your life? Are you worn out or weary? Do you feel like not worshipping God because of that situation? or Do you feel like giving up altogether?

We all go through a difficult time or a silent season in our lives. We can get stuck and fail to figure out how we will come out of that situation or problem.  This is definitely NOT an easy road to walk!! It is a dry season, painful, hurting that it makes us miserable, we can become mad at God and everyone. Eventually, our desire for God may decrease, we may stop praying as we used to, reading the word of God can become difficult and hard to believe! even fellowship can become a struggle! WHY? because we feel we don’t deserve to go through that pain, just because we have lived in right standing with God, we can even start to ask God questions as to why this is happening to us. “God, why are you silent”?

I just want you to know Brethren, What we are facing in our lives no matter how painful, difficult, tough or big it may be, we should never ever stop worshipping God!! life’s trials shouldn’t cause us to stop loving God or living for Him! They don’t determine who we are or our destiny, only God does! Why run away from the only one who can deliver you! He knows how to handle our situations, He knows the solution to our problems, He knows the route to our breakthrough, and He definitely can never forget about us. Matter of fact what we go through is never new to Him, He already knows before it happens.

let us look at Job, a good example and one to imitate who worshipped God amidst trials! In Job 1:13-22 we see how the devil attacked him, he lost all, his children and his property. So Job lost everything he had and was left with none. Not only that, he was also attacked with a painful illness from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. But what did he do? what was his reaction?

Job 1:20-22 says;

Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and he fell to the ground and worshipped. And he said: Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord. In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.

Job rose up and worshipped God in the midst of the situation he was going through,  his condition was difficult to control, Very hard to bear but he acknowledged God as the Lord over that situation. Job did not throw a pity party, nor did he complain against God. He could have asked so many questions as of why all that was happening to him, but he did not! He was not mad at God even though it was painful to live in that kind of situation. But Instead, he praised God, he did not sin nor did he blame God.  Are we able to worship God like Job did regardless of that storm we are facing right now? You see Job knew who God was, and because of that, he overlooked the pain, the struggle, the hurt, the abandonment because He knew God as His deliverer, His savior, healer, and restorer. When we worship God through trials(silent/dry seasons), through the uncomfortable moments, through the hard times, God moves mightily! this is where our faith is exercised and revealed, Here God gets all the glory.  That is why God cannot stay silent. The latter end of Job was greater than his beginning. God blessed him even more than his beginning. Job 42:12.

Worship leads us to our breakthroughs, When we worship, God intervenes in our situations, God restores what was lost. God fights for us.  These trials are not to destroy us but to develop us, to build us, to strengthen our faith in God, to cause us to know who God really is! because without them we wouldn’t have testimonies, we wouldn’t understand what God can do. So instead of thinking God has rejected us, we should instead see Him as a father who cannot forsake His children. We should look beyond our circumstances if we are to see the greatness of God.  God always works on our behalf, pleads for us, we may not see, nor understand but that’s okay we don’t have to, we only have to trust that His’ got this in control. In Acts 16: 25-26.  Paul and Silas were locked up in prison, beaten and mocked but they praised God in the midst of that situation. Suddenly, the prisons were shaken,  the doors were opened and everyone’s’ chains was loosed. Worship causes the supernatural to happen, miracles, signs, and wonders take place.

Brethren I just want to encourage you that you are going through a season that won’t last forever. Seasons don’t last, they come and go, they either affect us or impact us.  God causes them to happen in our lives for a reason, for a purpose and for our good. Trust Him! God is up to something though you can’t see.  Be patient and wait for Him to act. Therefore instead just worship God in everything, just praise Him like David. I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 34:1

More Bible verses;

To everything, there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 –

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when his glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.  1 Peter 12-13

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

I pray that God strengthens you and I in order to overcome every trial and pass the tests we may be facing.  I pray we may not lose heart but trust God’s faithfulness and to be still and know He is God. May the holy spirit strengthen and helps us to worship God in the midst of trials at all times. Amen

God bless you

Created to Worship

Do you know God commands our worship? We were created for a purpose and that is to bring glory to the one who made us. Our duty is to worship the creator not the creation.

Isaiah 43:7

Everyone who is called by my name, whom I have created for my glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him. NKJV

Man was created for God’s glory,  even as we all have different purposes of accomplishing here on earth, the ultimate goal is to bring glory to God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  The calling on our lives and the good gifts/ talents God has given to us are all for His glory not to us but to Him. This is why we shouldn’t grow proud as pride steals God’s glory,  making a man think that it is by own strength and wisdom that makes them prosper.  When we worship God we fulfill the main purposes why we were created.  Worship is an expression of reverence and admiration for God. Every human being deserves to worship God.  When God receives our worship, He receives all the glory. Worship acknowledges Who truly God is, His magnificence and great beauty of His nature.  Worship will reveal the sovereignty of God and guarantees that Only God is worthy and deserves our worship.  We should worship God who formed us, created us in His image, we are the work of His hands. Everything we see was made by Him, He is the creator of heaven and earth! the source of life and all that we are;  you see, all creation shows the glory of God, its a privilege to worship Him, we ought to worship Him!

Matthew 4:10

Then Jesus said to Him, Away with you, Satan! For it is written, you shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.

Jesus even confirmed it that we are to only worship God period, not anything else! not the devil, nor the sun, the moon, images, mankind whether rich or famous. But all to worship and serve the one true living God.  Even as the devil tempted Jesus that he will give Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory if He worshiped him., What about us? The devil will tempt us to in any way so that we fail to worship God. He can entice us to many beautiful or luxurious things which can draw our hearts away from God, how? when we begin to love them so much and adore them rather than God; they occupy the place of God in our hearts they become idolatry. It can be anything like a car, a house, family, job, friends etc. Whatever we put our whole heart on takes our attention and if it is not God or the things of God, we worship it!.  The solution is to worship God whether we have plenty or not if it is wealth, a perfect job, we always have to remember that it is God who gives us the power to make wealth Deuteronomy 8:18.  If it is good health or not , we should remember that It is God who bringeth health and healing, Jeremiah 33:6 in all situations whether good or bad we are to worship God.

Expressions of worship

There are many ways of expressing our worship to God;  David is a good example to follow, he worshiped God inside and out with all his heart, strength and life.  We can worship God by; Singing and shouting: Psalm 81:1-2 says Sing for joy to God our strength; Shout joyfully to the God of Jacob. Raise a song, strike the timbrel, The sweet sounding lyre with the harp. Like David, we worship when we sing songs to GOD in spirit and in truth. For example when we sing those beautiful worship songs in church, in our homes and regularly, even creating our own songs to GOD.

Dancing: 2 Samuel 6:14 And David was dancing before the LORD with all his might, and David was wearing a linen ephod. David danced with all his might,  he forsook all the glories of a king, or who was watching and worshiped God with everything in him through dancing. He didn’t consider himself highly but gave the praise back to God.

Speaking:; Psalm 71:8 My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long. We worship through Speaking of who God is, His greatness, His power, His works etc and telling of His wonders

Bowing down and standing: Psalm 95:6 Come, let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.  Psalm 33:8 Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.  We worship through kneeling and standing with sincerity of our hearts.

clapping our hands and lifting up our hands: Psalm 134:2 Lift up your hands to the holy place and bless the Lord!  Psalm 47:1 Clap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy!.  Worship is individual. God is the only audience of our worship not the members of the church or the choir leaders.  They only lead and guide us into worship.

Other ways we worship God is through;

Giving: Proverbs 3:9 Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops. When we give our offerings,  tithe or give a seed., we honor and acknowledge God who is the source of everything. And if we honor Him, He honors us back and blesses us according to His riches in glory.

Walking in holiness and righteousness: Romans 12:1 I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Worship is not just about singing but a lifestyle. Our whole lives including the heart, the body/flesh, the tongue, the mind must worship God. This means we have to discipline this body by controlling it to submit to God. We should honor God with our bodies, not to fulfill the desires of the flesh but to run away from every form of sin, and pursue holiness and righteousness.

Serving God: 1 Samuel 12: 24 Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you. Whatever work/ task we doing for the Lord is worship, so we worship Him with our lives. Serving is to sacrifice, to be obedient, and to acknowledge God,  His existence, omnipotence, and sovereignty etc.

Giving God all the glory in everything we do. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says  So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.  This regards our day to day living, our walk with God, our speech, character, etc whatever we do is for the glory of God and God will not allow anyone to share His glory.

I pray that God helps us and graces us to worship Him, never to grow weary and tired but continuing in strength and might to worship Him every day of our lives in spirit and in truth. Amen

God bless you all.

God is Faithful

Are you questioning God’s faithfulness? This could be in your ministry, in your walk with God, in your service to God or in your everyday life as a Christian.   Brethren I want you to know and be assured that God is Faithful faithful and faithful!!!! YOU CAN TRUST HIM!

Deuteronomy 7;9

Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love him and keep his commandments; NKJV

God is God and that’s who He is! He can never change!  no matter what goes on, what you going through, know that God is God, reliable, merciful, gracious, loving, caring, compassionate, kind, Faithful!! and on and on. He is God. He is what He says He is and that’s why you can trust Him, He cannot lie, He cannot change Himself, He cannot deny who He is! We cannot take away from Him or add on Him. He is and remains God the IAM.  God is still God in every season whether good or bad, in every situation whether painful, hurting or comfortable, In thick and thin moments. God is still God and ever soo faithful.

Living for Jesus doesn’t mean life will always be perfect, everything will look good and comfortable or life will always be glamorous and glittering. No, It will not always be like this because we are living in this world and Jesus said in John 16:33  in the world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer I have overcome the world.  Does this mean we will face troubles or suffering?  yes, and we should be ready for them.  In the Christian journey, the road is not always straight, there are bumps and potholes. These are obstacles and the problems that come away. But we should rejoice all the more for we have the victory over them! because of Jesus, who overcame the world.  We are more than conquerors, we are victors through Jesus Christ and this means we can never be defeated or be destroyed by what we see or face, our GOD is soo faithful who called us to Himself.  The enemy the devil is never at rest,  Job 1:7 tells us the devil goes to and fro on the earth and walks back and forth on it. He prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour  1peter 5:8. He will always attack us in the manner of how he attacked Job and destroyed all his possessions. That’s why we ought to be alert and watchful while we still in this world.  Because no matter what we do for God, the enemy will fight so much to hinder us and these are the challenges we always face,  the enemy strives hard to destroy our faith in God so that we fail to reach our destinies, miss heaven and the perfect plans God has for us.

But God is faithful who keeps His word, His Promise from generation to generation. He relies on His word and performs what it says. Even if we are faithless He remains faithful.  If He called you to ministry and gave you a word, and you have shown yourself faithful in that ministry, God will also show His faithfulness to you. You can trust Him because He is a great rewarder! your service to Him is not in vain, in other words, it is not useless, pointless or worthless however it is productive to the Kingdom of God, it is working for God and God who is soo big will pay you exceedingly more than man. He is not blind to your efforts, sacrifices, and commitment to Him. But He watches, appreciates and notices what you do and in due time, as you wait on Him you will see more of His presence in everything you do, He will do wonders for you, bless you mightly and answer your prayers. God will blow your mind. Trust Him and wait patiently for Him.

Maybe you have given your life to Christ you’ve forsaken everything including your life to follow Jesus, you now walk in His word, obedient and have made HIM the savior and ruler of your life. Brethren don’t lose hope or give up your faith if things aren’t going smooth as you want them or expected them to be. Truth is that everything won’t always be smooth but God is always there to pick you up when you fall, to fight all your battles, to provide for all your needs and keep you from the evil one the devil. God loads us with soo many benefits; the fullness of joy, assurance of peace and everlasting life here and life to come.  1Thess 3:3 says but the Lord is faithful who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.  God will plant you where He ordained you to be, He will set you apart and put a wall of fire around that nothing will consume you. He will make you firm and unshaken. Remember Your always on His mind and safe in His hands. He will be your shield and protector in everything you do.  You will see His Faithfulness if you patiently wait on Him. You can trust HIM He is soo Faithful!!

Maybe you don’t know this God I’m talking about and you wondering why I should give Him my life. God is faithful to handle your situations, to meet your needs and to give you such incredible joy and peace you have never experienced before. Accept His Son Jesus, In Him, is the safest place to be and to run too. When you are faced with storms of life, you can run to Jesus because He is the Savior of the world and always saves. He loves you unconditionally, just the way you are and greatly longs for you.

Let me share my testimony of how I’ve seen God’s faithfulness in my life.  I’m currently a student nurse going to the third year of my nursing degree course at Hertfordshire University.  The journey of reaching where I am now was never, never easy at all. I needed God big time to find a place at university as I did not obtain all the qualifications they were looking for, I reapplied two times every year to get a place at university. Yes at one point i felt to give up and just look for a job as it was soo hard and frustrating.  I was serving God in church, praying constantly but I was struggling.  God had told me that I will go to university however I couldn’t see this word coming to pass.  I kept on praying and seeking God continuously and reminded Him of His word.  The third time I applied I got four offers out of five universities and I had to pick my best choice out of them all, (a breakthrough and a miracle I was waiting for!! yeahh) I saw the fulfillment of His word coming to pass!.  Ever since I started my course I have seen God’s faithfulness throughout to where I am now and I’m sooo thankful and grateful to Him for bringing me this far.   Trust Him, He is soo Faithful!

I will leave you with these scriptures to encourage you to trust God and not waver in your faith.  God bless you all.

Hebrews 10:23  Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

Psalms 91:4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under his wings, you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

Is God, the Focal Point?

What are our motives behind the things we do? Do we make God the center?  Does our lifestyle show that He is the focal point? Are we focussed on God? What is the focal point of our lives as Christians.

Mathew 15:8

These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandment of men.

Let’s first talk about this heart as the scripture says that their heart is far from me.  We know that before we become born again, Christ always stands at the door knocking.. . He knocks at the door of our hearts. Rev 3:10 says Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.  He cannot come into our heart unless we allow him, and when we open the door, we open our hearts for Him to come and dwell and live with us. The heart is such a delicate organ, all things that come out of a person start within the heart.  Jeremiah 17:10 says I, the Lord search the heart, I test the mind ..God searches our hearts, He knows what is in our hearts, He knows the secrets of our hearts, He is all knowing God nothing can be hidden from Him. No wonder God says the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it?  Only God who formed it. And because He lives in our hearts, He knows everything inside, the thoughts, the imaginations, the desires etc Luke 6:5 says the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.. It is the heart that really shows who a person is. The outlook will deceive you but the inside is what tells you the truth of a person and thats what God looks at. 1Samuel 16:7 says the Lord looks at the heart.

So we ought to know that God’s eyes are on our hearts, on what is inside and not what is outside,  When He calls people, He looks at the heart and not at their status, how they look like, who they are or what they have,  even if they are not qualified, He looks at the their heart and qualifies them if He is pleased for He does what pleases Him.  So for us whom God has saved,, is He the focal point of what we do? What are our motives or the reasons of the things we do? , why do you do what you do as a Christian? for example serving God, worshipping God, the way you sing, the words you say, lifestyle, preaching the gospel, dying to self, pleasing God and the response to gifts God has given to us as well as the anointing, the holy spirit He has given to us for empowerment to archive His will.

Proverbs 16:2  All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits.

Others translations call it motives, a seat of emotions and character.  So we may be pure in our eyes but the Lord examines our motives.. what are our motives? Why is our heart far from God? This is because there is no truth in us, we are deceiving ourselves, that we worship HIM, Love Him yet the heart is no there or it is saying something else. Sadly, this does not make Him the focal point, we become,  We steal His glory by desiring to please people, seeking praise or attention from people and instead of Him being the center, we become and even ignore the holy spirit who does gives us the ability to do well. Jeremiah 12:3 but you o lord know me; you have seen me and you have tested my heart towards you. Brethren, people may not know our thoughts or imaginations, but God does, We may pretend to people and they will applaud to us but how about God who is watching us and sees the truth of our hearts. We may do what we do, strive and even become great, but it does not profit if God is not the reason why you doing it, If we do not give Him glory, If He is not pleased or if He is not with us. We will fail to accomplish the plans and purposes He has for us if we do not acknowledge Him and give Him glory.

1 corinthian 10:31

Therefore, whether you eat and drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Our hearts should be filled with the thirst and desire for worshipping God and give Him glory with our lives. Everything we do, should be for His glory, He should be the focal point, the main reason, the one in the center of what we do and this has to come from the heart. Our motives have to be based onto glorify God, honor and respect Him. we have to humbles ourselves so He can lift us up.  Everything has to be about God and for God, Remembering to appreciate the holy spirit, thanking Him daily for without Him we are powerless and cannot do anything. We must see ourselves as a privilege to serve Him. Our hearts have to put Him first, we must allow Him to lead us and help us, and always always telling others that Because of God I do this to give Him glory.  Our hearts have to glorify Him not just our lips.

Let us give God our hearts so He can reign over them, and uproot anything that is not like Him. Remembering always that by strength shall no man prevail.. so praising Him, appreciating, thanking Him, glorifying Him in sincerity and truth starting from within our hearts.

God bless you

Longing for God

Are you longing for God? Maybe you asking where’s God?, maybe you long to return back to Him or maybe you long for Him to fill you. How can God meet these longings in our hearts?

Longing to come out of the wilderness

Psalm 63:1

O God, You are my God, Early will I seek you; My soul thirsts for you; My flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. 2 So I have looked for you in the sanctuary, To see you power and glory.

A wilderness can be where we feel alone, where we feel rejected, Where you find no joy and peace.  Where you are helpless and you need a saviour, Where you realise that only Him can redeem and deliver, Where you want to be fulfilled. Maybe like David, Maybe your in the wilderness and you longing for God,  Maybe you crying out to Him and there’s no answer? David declared that God was His God,  First we have to know or realise how we see God. Ask yourself first Who is God to You? Is He your God, is He your refuge, do you run to Him for safety and not to people or things etc. Is He your Shield? Do you run to Him for protection, Is He your provider, are you leaning on Him to supply your needs, Is He your King? Do you honour Him above all else?  Do you seek Him first, before anything else, do you pray to Him, Do you give Him your time, do you acknowledge His presence? When we long for God to rescue us, hear us, deliver us and save us from problems circumstances and whatever we going through, we must first thirst for Him. For instance, when we are thirsty we want water, we look for it and get it and it clears away out thirstiness. Even so with God we have to long for Him to come and dwell in our hearts, we have to yearn and seek Him, not just to answer us but for us to know Him, see Him, feel Him and hear from Him through His word, prayer, sacrifice and obedience here we encounter God, receiving breakthroughs and coming out of the wilderness.

Longing to come back to God

Psalm 42:4

When I remember these things , I pour out my soul within me, for I used to go with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a mulitiude that kept a pilgrim feast. NKJV

Longing for God can be when we backslide, when we used to have intimacy with God, God was closer than anyone, we were constantly in God’s presence, spending hours of time with Him, praising and worshipping Him, time of prayer was never missed! studying His word was like crazy, when those times was all about God and it was just amazing! Where did all that go? Why is it not the way it was? Why don’t we feel close to God like before? These seasons happen to everyone, this is a dry season, a wilderness too. In this period we remember the moments we had with and the days when were on fire for God. When this happens it is always good to realise it and do something. David said my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirst land. The longness for God to bring us back is that we got to be there, this is the time where we cry out and pour our hearts to God to revive us again. God can restore us back to that place but we have to work for it. The devil gradually tempts us with many things that can easily draw us away from God and godliness. But when this happens we must renew our minds and realise where we’ve fallen, get up and run back to God. God is merciful always hears and helps us to rise up again when we fall.

Longing for God to satisfy

John 4:14

But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him, will never be thirsty, But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.

Another way is also when we long to satisfied. Even when we have everything, name it; the perfect job, the money, Family, friends, degree etc when life is going well but there’s no peace, we are not happy, even when things seem to be fine, It is just not right, we are not full, we are longing to be satisfied but what we have cannot satisfy us. The answer to this is Jesus! All you and I need is Jesus to satisfy, only God can satisfy the longings in our hearts. The one who made it can fulfill our desires and it’s only God. These material things we run too, to be fulfilled, to find joy and peace cannot fill us, they cannot replace God who is the maker of them, that’s why we still don’t have peace or we always want more and more, because we don’t have Jesus, if we did we would be at peace with what we have and have joy in them. What we desire and the peace we long for only Him can give to us. So seeking God constantly, and placing Him first and above everything making Him the center is where the peace, happiness and needs come from not on material things that we want.

I pray that God meets each longings in our hearts and as you and I have desired Him, He will show Himself to us,  He loves us so much that He will never leave us. Remember It’s always us who start to leave. So we must be alert and know His our strength and the lifter of our head. He will sustain us all the way as long as we let Him.

God Bless you.
